How does it work, from first visit to discharge?
From first visit to operating theatre usually takes two to three weeks, with an indicative written price, confirmed at the first in-person visit. No waiting lists, no billing surprises, and the same surgeon at your consultation, in theatre and at follow-up.

A guide price per procedure — published on each page — with financing over 3 to 48 months (interest-free up to 20) (subject to approval). Usual theatre date: 2–3 weeks.

Integrated theatre with Dr. Díaz's regular team: his anaesthetist, scrub nurse and coordinator. Laparoscopy in most procedures.

Dr. Iván Díaz Cuadrado
Dr. Iván Díaz Cuadrado (Barcelona, 1986) graduated in Medicine from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and is a specialist in General and Digestive Surgery, trained through the Spanish MIR residency programme at Hospital Universitari Mútua Terrassa, where he currently works as an attending surgeon in the Abdominal Wall, Endocrine and Breast Unit.
His work focuses on abdominal wall and endocrine surgery, including complex cases, with a particular interest in minimally invasive techniques such as laparoscopy and robotic surgery.
In 2026 he founded InSurgical to offer close, personalised care, with clear information and continuous follow-up throughout treatment. He also leads hern-IA, a project that applies artificial intelligence to hernia screening, and teaches on abdominal wall surgery courses. Consultations in English, Spanish and Catalan.

How much does surgery cost at InSurgical?
Every procedure has a guide price published on its own page, tax included, covering theatre, anaesthesia, materials and follow-up reviews. The first visit costs €120, and follow-up visits €70. Financing over 3 to 48 months (interest-free up to 20).
How soon can I be operated on?
First visit within 24–72 working hours and surgery, when indicated, within 2–3 weeks in a hospital operating theatre. Timelines are confirmed in writing with your quote.
Where is the clinic and where do you operate?
Consultations at Pg. de Sant Gervasi 55, 2nd floor, office A (08022 Barcelona, Sarrià-Sant Gervasi). Surgery takes place in a hospital operating theatre with Dr. Díaz's regular team.
Do you work with insurance companies?
We are direct-pay private medicine: you receive a full invoice and reports to claim reimbursement if your policy covers free choice of surgeon. Details per insurer on our insurers page.
What is day surgery (CMA)?
Having your operation and sleeping at home the same day, with the same safety standards as an overnight stay. Most of our hernia and proctology surgery works this way.
Does the first visit commit me to surgery?
No. Around one in five visits ends without a surgical indication. We also provide second opinions on diagnoses and quotes from other centres.
Can I pay in instalments?
Yes: 3 to 48 months (interest-free up to 20), subject to approval. Each procedure page includes an instalment simulator.
Do you handle emergencies?
We are not an emergency service. For acute abdominal pain, high fever or a hernia that will not reduce, go to hospital A&E. Operated patients have a direct line to the team.
